I am sorry to hear that the flow rate is really slow to the point of it stopping.
The new cartridges have a finer mesh at the bottom (to stop the carbon from coming out) which will mean the flow rate is slower, giving an overall better filtration.
It also may be that the cartridge hasn’t been pushed into the funnel fully? - WELL THAT WAS NOT THE CASE
Having said that, I do think the water is clearer and definitely less scale. The reason we have it is that we are in chalk hills, and even with the filter, I still need to descale at least monthly.
Searching the web, someone suggested taking the cartridge out and give it a bang and refit, which I did and that does seem to work
The first one I used was exactly the same; I thought that the first filter might just be a faulty one-off, but it seems not.
I have written to Brita, they are sending me one 'complimentary' filter, and have asked me to return a faulty one. I'm now passed the return window, and potentially have another ten non-working filters, and have thrown £40+ down the drain.
I would strongly advise you not to buy these.
